In addition to our Wednesday Evening Handicap racing and Sunday One Design Racing, the Quannapowitt Yacht Club and Day Sailer Fleet 67 will host the Day Sailer New England Championship Regatta. The Regatta will be held on June 24, 2017 at 10:00AM. The contact is Brian Wilson (firstname.lastname@example.org or 617-435-6633). You can also check the Quannapowitt Yacht Club website www.sailqyc.com for more info.
Join the Northern CA/Nevada and Southern CA/Arizona DS fleets for what hopes to be some super sailing. Set in the mountains of the Sierras, this event makes the mid-west seem downright boring! Lodging is available throughout the area, as well as camping nearby. This is sailing at 6000+ feet above sea level where the night can get cold, but the days provide a steady stream of continuous winds. Although the area has experienced a drought, this winter's 17 foot dump of snow with more to come seems to bode well for the venue and water levels. Come join the fun. For more info, visit the Fresno Yacht Club website, or contact Dave Keran at email@example.com or Mary Niederberger at firstname.lastname@example.org
The High Sierra regatta is the week before and is suggested as a great precursor to the DS NACR. Consider making it a family vacation!
Al Morris registration is now up! Found HERE
Al Morris is Aug 5-6th 2017 with additional nights of camping available on Thursday the 3rd and Friday the 4th.
We are changing the focus a bit and turning this into a destination Camping/Sailing event. But of course we encourage you to come and race in this fun and challenging sailing venue. We are reaching out to several fleets to increase the number and types of boats that race this year. But, even more exciting, we are encouraging WSC members to treat this as a family event and camping trip (read into this “Party”).
On Saturday night we will have a catered dinner (by Allison Blakemore Catering) with a BYO Meat Barbecue. We do not have the group campsite at Beaver Bay this year, instead we have 16 individual campsites on the south side of the campground. If you and your family are not interested in sailing we have three other options.
1) Volunteer to do race committee and get free camping and dinner.
2) Volunteer to set up and clean up for dinner and get a free dinner.
3) Come and camp with the group and pay only for camping and dinner. This is a new option to get non-sailors to join us at Al Morris this coming year.
This is gonna be fun!!! Questions? Please contact Allison at 503-806-6986.
